Biking From Alberta to Detroit

I'm now in planning mode for a 3K mile trip from Calgery, Alberta to Detroit, MI. This will be my first trip, and most likely my last for a very long time. I'm hoping it will be the kind of trip I can tell my grandkids about.

Just found a website that lists free places to camp throughout the united states. I'm sure I'll end up doing some stealth camping along the way and stay in a hotel every few nights (everyone needs a shower every few days), but this seems to be very helpful.
