We started our USA road trip in April, so we’re taking a break from our ‘world adventure’ blog to work on our USA blog. We’ll try to post more often, but with less pictures to stay more current. This blog begins on the Oregon coast, then over to Crater Lake National Park. Crater Lake was formed when a volcano collapsed 7,700 years ago; the rim road going around the crater was still closed due to all the snow. From there, we went back to the California coast, driving through some huge redwood forests.Back inland, to Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California; the road going through that park was also closed a few miles in due to snow. The last stop on our first week was in Lake Tahoe. It was strange to see people in the water, with so many snow covered mountains in the background. Next week - back to the California coast; yes, we did a bit of zig-zagging, but it worked out best for us.
