Thermopolis - Hole in the wall bar - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 27th May, 2009. Thermopolis
Down to the Mineral Springs this morning and in for a relaxing soak, nice. Talked to a couple of locals who firmly believe that the minerals have done their aches and pains a considerable amount of good. There are 28 minerals in the water (don't ask me what they are). Twenty minutes was enough in the 104 degree F (40C) bath.
Down town and into the local Cultural museum, which was worth a look, a lot of History here and great exhibits, they have the original "hole in the wall bar" (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) on display. Photography is banned in the museum but I managed a postcard for you. Lots of local Indian dispalys as well, in the cellar.
Weather was good again but this evening we had a sudden burst of winds which lasted all of 5 minutes, must have been approx 60 miles an hour - it was wierd.
Went for another one of our walks this arvo and had a look through a Cowboy supplier - everything you always wanted to ride a horse, some fantastic saddles, and the spurs, told Sam I would get some for her if I
could wear them, didn't seem that interested. Another local supermarket and for sale again, with ammunition were the slug pistols and rifles, every kids dream, I could have picked one up, loaded it and had a shoot up in the shop. Had a bit of a look around for a rod and reel, talk about every different maker on display, eventually I was so confused I gave up.
Tomorrow we are off to Jackson Hole, which is about 218 miles form here, getting closer to the Yellowstone Park now.

Gun problem
Actually, interestingly enough Wyoming does not have a problem with murder compared to most states, and yet we can sell guns in our stores because people use them to shoot animals or to protect their livestock, not people! Also, too bad you didn't get a picture of Dairyland in Thermopolis, best food in the state :)
