Grand Tetons Day 9
Today we got up at about 6:00 am to get to see animals sadly we did not see anything new. After that we went to our favorite breakfast buffet for a hardy breakfast. Soon we were on the road heading to the Grand Tetons for about 1 hour and then stopped at the visitor center and looked at the museum about Indians. Then we went to the gift shop and Ben bought a how to draw book of animals. Then we went to watch a movie about the grizzly bear. Then we went to the Lodge to work on a couple of Blogs . Soon we were rushing out to get to our raft ride. For supper we had ribs and chicken, salad, bread and cookies. Soon we were on the raft . We saw elk, bald eagles, deer, and beavers. We soon were in bed for the 8th day.

Day 10-The Grand Tetons
The day began with bright sunshine and a late start. We all slept in until 8am. I guess we needed to catch up. We had a quick breakfast of cereal in RoVer and we were off.
We were heading toward Jenny Lake to take a ferry across the lake to climb on the trails of the mountain, but to our disappointment the entire parking lot was full, except for several car spaces. It gives us a whole new appreciation for RV's. Every RV space was taken up by several cars. This was about the time of Lisa's first melt down. Chris returned to the main road and thought he was heading for another parking area that we could hike to the Jenny Lake area, and we ended up on a dirt road heading toward who knows were that was really, really, really, really, really bumpy. Like I said I got a little testy about the situation and had a melt down. After getting out of the situation we were again off toward the Moose Visitors Center. On our way we saw a traffic jam. We have never stopped at one of these "Bear Jams", but we figured we would
give it a try. It paid off, for we got to see a Moose. Chris got some really good pictures. We continued on to the visitors center. Again the cars took almost all of the RV parking so we found that we had to maneuver into a space between SUVs. We also visited the Historic Area which consisted of a homestead and first Ferry across the Snake River, and a little store. There also was a small church called Church of the Transfiguration. It was small but that is were most people of the area attended church in the 20's.
After a quick snack we were again heading back to the Jenny Lake Lodge to try to catch a ferry across. We finally found a spot actually in an RV space but we had to share it with a small SUV. We were then on our way to the ferry. Just as we got on, it started to drizzle. I know this area is very dry ( actually extreme fire danger) but did it have to rain today? We got across and started up the trail to the hidden falls and inspiration point and it really started to rain.
The hidden falls was beautiful, but we didn't make it all the way up to inspiration point. On the way back down the mountain we were able to locate a letterbox. We had forgotten out stamps and books, but we stamped our paper with their stamp and will tape it in to our books at home. We drew our stamps into their book and apologized for forgetting our stamps. The trip back across the lake was cold and wet, but seeing the clouds forming on the mountains was perfect.
On our way back up the road again we approached another "bear jam". This time we just looked around to see if we could spot what everyone was looking at as we drove by. The car in front of us had stopped therefore we had to stop also. When I turned to look out there about 15 feet into the woods was a black bear. This was my second bear sighting but all the other Echterlings finally got to see one. Off to supper at the Mexican restaurant here in Colter Bay were we are staying. We then went to a Ranger program about the Grey Wolf. This was the
last requirement for Alea's junior park ranger patch. We're now going to sit back with some ice cream and popcorn and enjoy a movie. Good Night.

Fun Fact of the Day: RoVer can hold up to a lot of bouncing on a dirt road.
