Spring Green/Madison - 6th Day So, we watched a girl get arrested at 8am then drove to Spring Green, Wisconsin to tour Taliesin, the home, studio and architecture school of Frank Lloyd Wright. Mavis met us for the 2 hour tour. We saw the architecture school which is still in existence, Frank Lloyd Wright's personal studio and Taliesin, the house he lived in with his family and was constantly redesigning. The buildings and furnishings are almost the same as when he was alive and it was amazing to get a glimpse into his life. The use of abstract imagery to draw you closer to nature was astounding. After considering our options, we decided on the longest tour, the estate Tour (four hours), for tomorrow. We browsed through the town of Spring Green, Wisconsin and came across a lovely gallery. The owner was from Germany and she had an eclectic collection of artwork. Frank Lloyd Wright is considered, by some, to be the most inventive architect of our generation. Wisconsin is Wright’s birthplace and the site of some of his most famous structures. Taliesin is often thoug... read more
