Was it dark when we went to sleep???
It is a quiet morning - except for the Kellys who freakishly wake up and go walking all of the time...bacon for breakfast is always a beautiful ting. Patrick and Asshole had gone to Sorg's meats and sausages on Friday and picked up some of their best bacon and it's really good.
We split up - the girls go shopping and get lunch and the gentlemen going to uh, drink. Steve Kelly played safety for the Indiana Hoosiers in the early 70s so we gotta watch them play their game against Illinois. Their new coach has not won a conference game in a season and a half, but hey, every dawg gets a bone sometime. And so they do-winning 35-21 and spoiling the Illinois homecoming. Nice job HOOSIERS! We hit a couple of bars and finally settle in at Harpoon Willie's, a local watering hole with lots of TVs for viewing uh, football. We get our drink on and split some Thai wings. The GEORGIA BULLDAWGS are on in Williams's Bay, Wisconsin!!! This game starts out good with the Dawgs getting a quick score. The offense doesn't show up this day,
but #29 does! JJ is a game changer and dominates this meeting of the world's largest cocktail party. 13 tackles, 3 sacks, 4 loss yardage, 3 forced fumbles, 3 recovered fumbles. Wow!!! What a day at the office. And Florida fans, how about Coach Musgrave's expression on addressing the one (1) player who apparently didn't do right. I thought the man was gonna stoke out on national TV. Anyway, it's been a while since we beat the Gaytors in consecutive years. Feels good, feels right, its just a night in my veins!!!!!
The Lady of the Lake, Mandy, chauffered the girls to downtown Lake Geneva. First stop is Simple for lunch - unfortunately, there was a 30+ minute wait but their bakery is next door so in we go to pick up Foccacia, Coconut Macaroons, etc. The place smells amazing! We end up at Lake Geneva Creperie for lunch. Crepes and Paninis for lunch - Sweetie had a spinach, artichoke and chicken crepe with a small house salad - excellent! Everyone gave a thumbs up on their lunch. Now that we're powered up - it's time to shop! We checked out The Bootery which has a gorgeous selection of
boots, shoes and all kinds of accessories - killer selection of UGGs and SmartWool (new scarf, hat and socks to confirm this). Another stop is the Cornerstone Shop and Gallery - this place is sensory overload and really, really neat. If you can't find something here for yourself or someone else, you just don't have a shopping gene. We stop in at Delaney's, Verve Gallery, Brick & Mortar and I Love Funky's - Sweetie loves shopping in Lake Geneva!!! Time to get back to the boys!
We head out to dinner at Cafe Calamari, but not before we make a group picture that takes about an hour to take, but I digress. After more drinks, we have a delicious dinner. I have the special that is a 6 ounce filet and a Parmesan crusted shrimp, very good. Sweetie has Farfalle Pasta with Carbonara sauce, another good choice (and an excellent breakfast starter!)
Time to head back to the hacienda - the gang will disburse in the morning...
