Trip to Lake Wenatchee Day 1 Our cousin picked us up at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and drove us to Lake Wenatchee by taking the Interstate 405, then State Route 522, and finally National Route 2. Then we took the turnoff to Lake Wenatchee. Then we went into our Cabin and ate Dinner. Day 2 On Day 2 we went to Lake Wenatchee and tried to go on a tiny boat to an island and built a small fort around a bay. We also went biking around the Lake. Day 3 On Day 3 we went on a 2 hour River Rafting Adventure along the Wenatchee River and through 5 different Rapids. Day 4 On Day 4 we went Rock Climbing in Icicle Creek Canyon. August 28 Wenatchee, Washington Heading southeast as we leave the town of Leavenworth the landscape makes an abrupt change. We’d been driving along the Wenatchee River through rugged mountains and national forests. Now we’re suddenly traveling through rolling hills and fruit orchards. On all sides fruit trees appear weighted down with a season’s bounty of pears and apples. We’re spending the night in Wenatchee a small industrial city on the banks of the Columbia River. Wenatchee is the major center of agricultural for this part of Washington. Next time you purchase a bag apples or pears in the supermarket read the bag it probably says “Product of Wenatchee” on it.
