C says: We love this city and are not 'sleepless'! Ha ha!

Me again: It's true though, we've got a fantastic hostel with a fireplace with comfy cushion area and a wood effect fireplace. So cosy- don't want to leave! Visited downtown Seattle yesterday and walked around all day today. We had Jalapeno Chilli and Strawberry Ice cream near a Lenin statue in a cool neighourhood called Fremont. Yum!

Donika now has a tummyache because she ate too much chocolate during our guided tour through THEO's chocolate factory-also in Fremont. It was really interesting to find out about chocolate production right from the plant and bean to an actual bar. We're planning to visit a Cocoa plantation in Costa Rica now! Seattle is the nicest city we've visited so far. Lots of lovely old buildings and 'oldy-worldy' signs in old-fashioned fonts-love it! Pike Place market on the seafront is an amazing world of smells, colours and noise! At the fish stalls, the fishmongers actually THROW whole fish out to customers in the queues. Crazy 😊

Tomorrow we're hiring a car and heading out to Mt. Rainier and then later in the week to Mt. St. Helens. Hurray!!! The people here have been SO nice and friendly. We've been blown away by how helpful and kind everyone has been. Apparently the US Northwest is known for this hospitality. 😊

St. Helens.
