Space Needle
Space Needle in Seattle Seattle – Day 2 - Oct 2011
This morning we started out around 9:00 am by taking the Best Western Shuttle to the light rail and taking that into the city. It worked out great and saved a lot of aggravation on the high way. The light rail system is great here. We started at the beginning (airport) and went to the end (WestLake Mall). Then we took the monorail to the Space Needle (where it ended). It was fast and easy!
First we went to the Pacific Science Center and watched an IMAX movie called Born to be Wild. This place is really geared for kids more than adults but it was a place included in the City Pass book, so we wanted to visit it since we were there. Then we went and had lunch at the Space Needle in the Sky City Restaurant. This was a great experience. The restaurant revolved and the view of the city was great. I had ordered a “Happy Birthday Free Entree” certificate before we went on vacation so we were able to use that against our lunch bill. It’s pricey here so that coupon came in handy for sure. A
Sky City
A great restaurant in the space Needle. photographer comes around and takes your picture, and gives a card which you then take upstairs to view and email to yourself. It’s free, which is nice. The food was excellent. We had the Chowder, Butternut soup, Crab melt and Crab Mac n cheese. Definitely worth it.
The Experience Music Project and the Science Fiction Experience were visited next. The Music Project was all about Jimi Hendrix and Nirvona. There was a film of them playing music and then an exhibit. It was interesting. The Science Fiction Experience was our favorite because they had a Battlestar Galactica exhibit, which we loved. The Duck tour was next and this is definitely a fun city tour. The guy was very energetic and it was very interesting to see the different parts of the city and to go into Lake Union. This is where the Sleepless In Seattle house boat is. We didn’t get very close to it though. The lake is very large and when you are in it you can get a very good picture of the skyline.
We headed back on the monorail which ended at the WestLake Center Mall and looked around there a bit (stopping at

Battlestar Galactia sign and Robert Godiva for some chocolate), and then took the light rail to the end (airport) where we called for our hotel shuttle to pick us up and take us back to the hotel.
