After a horrible exam at the Lasik guy up in Seattle (they mistook me for another person once, asked me why I wanted to maybe get lasik twice (already got lasik suckers), and tried to get me too early for my eye dilation) I came to really appreciate Dr. Assil’s office in LA. What would have taken them 10mins at Assil’s, took a good 2 hours at the place in Seattle. Out of that 2 hours I would guess I was in the waiting room 1.5 hours, and saw the actual doctor for 5mins. Can’t wait to get that bill! Drew got out of Lab early today and we went for a voyage around Lake Washington in a canoe we rented from U of W. There were many adventures on the water in the 2 hrs ... read more

After spending nearly 4 months in Argentina, I'm back in Seattle. It's good to be home, but it was hard to leave. I made some really good friends during my stay, learned a ton of Spanish and took my tango to a new level. Here are a few pictures of my last few days in Bs.As. and of my first few days at home.... read more

Tim: Everything is sweeter when you are relaxed, you taste the air you breathe, you hear the words clearly of the music you are listening too and conversations are easier to hold. Well that is how I feel today. We have been here for 3 nights and spent 3 days here in Seattle. I have not gone crazy on you so dont worry! This place is just amazing, yeah tall buildings are all very well and nice enough to look at, I know that It must have taken a lot of effort to make them etc...but..nothing compares to what mother nature has created here..Sea..Sand..Sun..Surf and Snow capped mountains! It has been hot here as well, we must have had the temp in the 30's yesterday and in the high 20's today. I have not caught the ... read more

Tom: Seattle is home to some of the most popular coffee chains in the US, so it seemed only right to start the day with some "local" fare, and boy were we glad we did. Seattles Best Coffee certainly didn't disappoint. So fueled up we set off to sort out our car hire for our drive down the west coast, seeing as it's going to be 1000 miles we've decided to treat ourselves :). That settled we grabbed some seafood fresh from the port for lunch before we took a tourist tour of Seattles underground. Seattle burned down in about 1890 or so, and due to certain politics it was decided to rebuild the city on top of the old one. The tour was a nice break from the usual tourist attractions aswell as a welcome ... read more

Tim: We awoke today at 7am for our 14 hour trip from Chicago to Seattle. We booked with US Airways, now we could have paid lots of money for a 4 hour direct flight but your talking $800 each, we paid $400 for both of us to get here so thats 100 quid each to cover many thousand miles. The first flight was slightly spoiled by a drunken redneck idiot who was sat in the row behind us, he had opinions on all sorts and was going to make sure that the whole aircraft knew about it. He eventually run out of gas and shut up. Short lay over in Phoenix in Arizona. WoW! Middle of the desert big red rocks all over the place, on the plane this changed from desert to desert with snow ... read more

Voila!

Bref d moments fous a chaque fois! ... read more

As you know by now I am leaving next week to go to Australia for about 5 months. I will be in school at the University of Sydney for a semester from March - June and then hope to do some other traveling around Australia and New Zealand while I am down under. It seems unreal that I am actually leaving next week as I have been researching programs and doing lots of waiting to hear back about acceptance for over a year now. I hope that this blog thing doesn't turn out like a bad new years resolution and that I actually update it with some frequency with new stories and pictures of my trip. Feel free to check it every once in a while or never. I think I read in signing up for ... read more
