Day 2 in Seattle found us in different places. Sue looking for a Museum and me in an Irish bar watching the England Columbia match in the World Cup. A tense affair which unbelievably we won on penalties - footballs coming home.
Met up with an old friend and his wife (Dave and Jen) who kindly took us to their home in Ballard before showing us a different part of Seattle and fantastic hospitality. Visited Rays, a lovely restaurant and had a great meal there with wonderful views across the bay. http://www.rays.com/boathouse/ thoroughly recommend it.
Later walked along Ballard beach watching all and sundry having fun and playing beach volleyball
Next morning 4th July we visited the Ballard salmon locks and managed to see salmon leaping (well sue did) and seals with Dave. Followed up with a lazy day, lunch by the union lake then a wander round before being dropped off near capitol hill.
Finally, celebrated (if that's the right word) 4th July watching fireworks across Union lake with a few thousand others
Canada tomorrow
