This all starts here in Port Angeles, WA. It's beginning to warm up a little, I have the windows open to let the cool air flow through. I don't do well with warm weather, imagine how it will be in July in Israel!! I have just over a month to prepare for this trip, my goal of riding my stationary bike twice a day until I leave has found me still making excuses nearly one month after making that commitment. I will start tomorrow.....really..... So, my walking stick came today, it's telescopic and should help me with walking on uneven ground. The shoes I ordered won't work at all, too narrow, so I will return them and look elsewhere for something for my feet. Shoes are a big issue with me now that I have this ... read more

Hi From Port Angeles, I am finally back in the states and having mixed emotions. I am glad to be here spending time with my dear friends Sarah and Robert again, and am looking forward to seeing more friends and soon my family! But it was hard leaving Central America, and it is always hard coming back to the US after being gone for a while. I didn’t write for a while because there wasn't a whole lot worth writing about, or I should say there wasn't a whole lot going on that I thought would be worth reading about. When I last wrote, I was in Flores with Dee, a girl from the volunteer program I was in. She was sick but started feeling better so we headed back to work and to our respective ... read more

Day 5 - Port Angeles. Olympic National Park. HOLY SMOKEZ, kids, you need to come to Olympic National Park! We drove up to Hurricane Ridge first, which was only about a 15 minute drive. Once you hit the top, there's a gift shop, clean bathrooms, convenience store, and BREATHTAKING views. Snowcapped mountains 'n all. There are tons of trails to hike and camp on, but we had a whole day o' stuff planned so we just went on the short one. It was still incredible.. go on! Look at the pictures! Then we drove on Highway 101 headed towards the Pacific Ocean. On the way there was this incredibly beautiful lake - Lake Cresent - and oh my stars.. there were mountains but just the water itself was a sight. It was beyond blue, y'all!. The ... read more

Our day started at the crack of dawn this morning! We wanted to be on the first ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC. The alarm clock rang at 5:30am and we were in line for the ferry by 7:00 am. We left the car and grabbed some to go breakfast. I stopped and talked to Bill at the tourism booth for some recommendations on what to see in Victoria. The ferry took about 90 minutes and we drove right to our hotel and parked the car. We set out to see the sights of Victoria, starting with the Parliament buildings. We signed up for the free tour and it was great. They took us through the building and we even got to meet a famous character from Victoria’s past, “The Hanging Judge”. Our tour ... read more

So here is the beginning of our blogging world travels. We are taking a trip to Victoria this weekend. Our first stop is at the Royal Victorian Hotel in Port Angeles, WA. After we were not sure if we were going to go up a night early or not we decided to call around and check some prices. We are not sure what to do with the car when we get up there while we are in Victoria. We foudn a place and decided to roll. The girls were dropped off at a friends and we boogied on up. It was all in all a wonderful rainy drive. It did stop though by the time we arrived. The Royal Victorian hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel but.... if you are just looking for ... read more

. No that is not Victoria Australia, Victoria Texas, Victoria Kansas or even Before Christ… It is British Columbia! We were surprised to find that there were so many Victoria’s when we were searching for the weather… Talking about which, it looks like another good one today, and perhaps not even as cold - great for biking! Our plan was to see if we could check out of the hotel at 2pm, grab the bikes, go riding, clean up and leave in time to catch the 4pm ferry… But, the best laid plans… Statistics Starting Destination: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Ending Destination: Port Angeles, Washington Ending Destination GPS: N: 48° 06.955’ W: 123° 25.502’ Elev: 105’ Miles Driven: 19.4 Distance Biked: 21.52 miles Distance Cruised: 22 miles Number of Bears Spotted: 8 A Little Bit of ... read more
