Day 1 - Springfield, OR - Mount Vernon, WA

We got a late start out town this morning and made a quick stop at my uncles in Portland. We hit the road and made it through Portland with no problems; we missed rush hour! It was a beautiful day out. The weather was calling for rain, but when I got up this morning and checked the report it showed sunny all week. We couldn’t ask for better weather. Once in Washington, we made our way to Bellevue to have some dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. After dinner we shopped around at the mall and then headed north. I wanted Megan to see Lake Washington and the bridge across the water. She thought it was pretty cool. We have to be up at 5am to make our 8:30am ferry to Sidney, BC. I believe we have about a 40minute drive to the terminal and we need to be there early to guarantee we make it on. We have a 3 hour ride through the San Juan Islands. I can’t wait to see them; I have always wanted to. More to come tomorrow…..
