Day 2 - Friday Harbor

Another beautiful day. Woke up very early to board the Clipper ferry to Friday Harbor (part of the San Juan Islands) where we went on a whale watching cruise. Took 3 hours to get to Friday Harbor thru the sound and past many islands. We saw many bald eagles, porpoise, seals, and herons along the way to Friday Harbor. Then we saw 2 pods of whales just off of Friday Harbor - pretty incredible to see them blowing and gracefully coming out of the water so that we could see them. Friday Harbor Island was quaint like Martha's Vineyard and we did a little shopping and ate ice cream during the 2 hours we had to explore the island before heading back to Seattle. Topped off our night with a nice seafood dinner by the ferry pier.
