Today was a “free day” for those on the exchange. The teachers took full advantage of this opportunity!

Monika, Irena, Jochen and I toured “Tulip Town” to take in the sights. The tulips were not fully in bloom yet, but then again, either were the crowds! It was still quite an impressive sight as they were about 80% in bloom. The colors were rich and vibrant and the weather cooperated brilliantly. It is interesting to note that I grew up here in the valley, and today was my first trip to Tulip Town as well.

From here we drove north on Chuckanut Drive to “The Woods” coffee house in Fairhaven to meet Heidi and Jill for a cup. After a tour of Boulevard Park and stroll down the pier, the six of us were off to the "Big Rock Garden" sculpture park in Bellingham for another walk.

All in all a brilliant day with wonderful company!

Another busy day tomorrow with a tour of the police station and midnight bowling!

Enjoy the pics!
