After our paddle we packed up and headed for Zion. Because
there was road construction near Kanab, and we had been told the tunnel
closed at 5:00pm, we decided to take the scenic byway to Zion. It was
the Smithsonian Scenic Byway which is loved by ATV's but fortunately we
were pretty much by ourselves getting to Zion. The scenery was beautiful. There was snow on the ground and it was so nice up against the red rocks heading into Zion.

Stopped at one
of our favorite grocery stores, SOL, in Springdale and picked up some
things for dinner. We had a very nice room right on the edge of the
park and arrived there as the sun was setting so the colors of the
surrounding hillsides were very nice. We had a nice quiet dinner of
smoked salmon and salad and had a little down time before our next
adventure.
