Writing this blog after the fact but this was a very important site. I first need to give shout outs to a few people. First is Heather. She was my on site boss and she was fantastic. Really great manager and she has a great team at the crew desk. I was there to cover for one of the managers, he was going on a well deserved vacation. The night manager was going to cover his shift so I was there to learn shift management for a week then spend the next week and a half covering the night shift. For night shift I had to get there at 9:15pm and I got off at 7:45am. Those of u that know me, u know I am NOT a night owl at all. That, was until I met the night crew. I LOVED my time at this site because of the people. Misty, Darrel, Miguel, Derrick, Eugene, Myra, Allondrisha, Rishard, Diaz, Andre, Vicky, Monique, Connie just to name a few. Every person at this site was great. They all worked hard and I definitely felt like I met great people here and I was sad to leave.
As far as Waco,
the town was kind of wack but not completely. I stayed at an Extended Stay and my second night there I was attacked by a cockroach the size of a toy car. The funny thing was that at the time I was on Skype with my 2 sisters and when u skype with more than one person u guys can hear each other but u cant see each other. So there I am chatting with my sisters and out of the corner of my eye I see something big crawl across my floor. I immediately start screaming like a little girl and my poor sisters and probably thinking I am about to get murdered. The worst part was that every time I would try to kill it, it would run back under the a/c. I hung up with them and Meredith called me back. She was so intrigued she made me old up my laptop so she could see the damn thing! I finally killed it by throwing a giant shoe on top of it! In my photos u will see a picture of this critter in a cup. Look close. Nasty. Speaking of which, in general Waco has some
giant bugs. U will also see a huge green bug that I found, already dead, in the trunk of my rental car. Its bigger then... the top of a water bottle. Freakin big for a bug. Thank god it was dead when I found it. One of the best things about being in Waco was that it put me only an hour from one of my sorority sisters, Christina. She and I hit the town in Austin and had a great time! I love her to death and I had missed her tons so it was great to have someone thats like family so close by.
