Starting the trip, we met Erin at Olive Garden for a Fathers' Day lunch before leaving Albuquerque. We drove to the first of several Hampton Inns for this trip, this time the one on the south loop in Lubbock. We arrived by 6:30 and checked in then walked across two parking lots to get to Outback for dinner which was just okay. Filet was tender and perfectly cooked, but covered in a too spicy rub which detracted from the goodness of the steak. I haven't had a meal at Outback in a long time and don't remember that they spice up the meat.
Philip had some classwork to do, and we made it an early evening.
