LA to El Paso

After a brief stop in LA to exchange cars with Justin (who we plan to meet in Budapest where he will be working on a movie) we headed to New Mexico and my hometown of El Paso for our niece, Candice, and her husband to be's fabulous wedding (complete with Mariache band and Beach Boy father-daughter dance). Loaded to the hilt with belongings we were leaving along the way, including our canoe for Wesley and Anna, we encountered our first major challenge - both of our cars were hit. Stewart's Prius was totaled and there was significant damage to "Joy" (my Rav). We asked ourselves if, " this is a sign? Some foreboding?" We have planned on leaving our vehicles at different points of departure/return across the country in order to have transportation for our vague year long itinerary. However, since neither one of us is hurt, we have decided to regroup and to continue on to Santa Fe for a brief, but delightful and long overdue visit with Kara and Wolf in their beautiful art heaven.
