Taking it easy in Austin, TX
So we caught a plane from New Orleans to Austin, TX which went via Houston. Our 28 minute flight from Houston to Austin was VERY bumpy, like being on a rollercoaster! We were both quite glad when we were bak on terra ferme. Austin is a fantastic place, really laid back and quite different to anywhere we've been to so far. Found a fantastic vegetarian restaurant called Veggie Heaven - Rachel enjoyed her favourite meal of our trip so far! (Guy was reasonably impressed by his tofu dish - good job they had some chili sauce!) Austin is home to the University of Texas which is the largest Uni in the US. There are loads of good bars and cheap eats here, and planty of live music to boot. Austin has the self-proclaimed title 'Live Music Capital of The World'. After a couple of days looking round we got a bus to a place calle Barton Springs on the outskirts of Austin. This is a large freshwater spring where you can swim and sunbathe - we spend two days here doing just that! Feel a bit more relaxed here as there is a bit less to see and do so it's

been really nice to slow the pace down a bit.

We then caught a train to San Antonio, TX and had a day looking around. There's not much here really apart from the Alamo (touristy) and the Riverwalk (touristy and expensive). The Riverwalk is a pedestrianized walkway that follows the San Antonio river and along it are nice bars and expensive reastaurants. EVERYONE goes here in the evenings as it's very crowded and the streets of San Antonio are deserted!

We had an early start (4am) to catch out train from San Antonio to Tucson, AZ. This was due to leave San Antonio at 5:30am but was delayed for nearly 4 hrs! It then took 19 hours to get to Tucson. We arrived at 4am the next day feeling very tired and a bit crazy!

Hope everyone's well, thanks for all the kind messaged you've been sending - we'll get round to answering/emailing you all individualy soon - in the meantime, keep 'em coming!
