Start of Hike!Start of Hike!Start of Hike!

Just after receiving our Bear training!
After a day of fun in Pigeon forge we decided we would go for a hike. While in Cades cove on our bikes we found a 2.5 mile hike to Abrams Falls so we decided we would start with this hike. It was a 2.5 mile hike up and down through mud, rocks, just a wonderful array of views and sites along the way through the woods. It was a fun Hike although we did get rained on a bit but when we arrived at the falls it was a wonderful treat and well worth the trip through the woods. After the hike while exiting the park we came across our first bear who was protecting her cubs from a hungry coyote. That was fun to watch for a few minutes before heading back to camp. On Tuesday being tired after our hike we decided to head up to Wind-Rock Park(old coal mine) off road trails in Oliver Springs about 1.5 hours from Townsend for a day of Razor riding. Wind-Rock Park is 72,000 acres of fun and fun we had from climbing rock hills to flying through mud holes and yes getting so lost. We went up and down the side of eth mountain many times, it was great. The views from on top of the mountain were awesome, so awesome that you could actually see the top of the Smokey Mountains from up there. We encountered a 15 degree temperature change from the bottom to the top of the mountain and that don't seem like much but after running through the mud puddles and being completely soaked it was a bit chilly. We obviously had a great time. On the way home we stopped and had our first Southern Barbeque in Marysville, it was an old gas station turned roadside barbeque. I had ribs and Kathy a pulled pork sandwich, I would recommend the Full Service barbeque to all. On Wednesday the 3rd of June we reverted back to the Harley for another great ride. It was a bit stormy in our area so I headed north to Sevierville through Pigeon forge and found a Rustic road leading us to a Dam. Behind the Dam was a lake set in a beautiful setting in the mountains and was a great stop to rest and take in the sights. From there we decided to take a ride around the lake
taking us to some nice little country towns and some wonderful riding. We ended up in Knoxville and started heading back, loading up the bike with groceries to the point where Kathy had to hold one bag full of groceries for the 1/2 hour ride back to camp. After grilling we enjoyed a campfire and relaxed the night away.
