After taking a few pics of Beale street in the day (def doesn't capture it) we drove to Nashville, Tennessee! After checking in at our hostel we ventured into town for a late lunch. They have country music playing from random boxes in the streets and there is a surprising amount of corporate offices/ people. We went to the 'Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum' and did yet another interesting audio tour. On the way home we found a white castle which was heaps exciting (from the movie- harold and Kumar Go to white castle). We then crashed for a couple of hours due to exhaustion. For our late dinner we went to Broadway where all the 'honky Tonkin'' happens! All the bars down this strip are older/ dingy but all playing live country music and all packed! Laura and I accidently found ourselves in yet another nice restaurant above the strip (and all it's fried meaty foods). We ordered a few delish vege sides to share to keep the costs down, but then ordered wine and cocktails. Oopsy! After our wonderful dinner we commenced our honky tonk crawl, stopping in at all the bars with awesome bands. They were all 'rockabilly' bands so we still knew some songs! When we were getting to the end of the strip we could hear an awesome version of 'Benny and the jets' coming from somewhere. There were no people around except for two bouncers at a random door. We asked them if that was where the music was coming from and they said yes so we went in and found just two guys on two pianos with only max ten people watching them. The bud lights were two for one ($4) and the guys playing were amazing so we stayed here for the rest of the night. We then got a drunken feed at white castle in the taxi on the way home! 😊
