Ready to Go.
Look at that smooth face. Hello! Welcome to our first official entry.
First 3 days were driving in the rain. We didn't pick up any hitchhikers so there isn't much to type about. We arrived in South Dakota the end of the 3rd day. Day 4 (the 14th) we stopped in the 1880 town. Apparently it's a shrine to Dances with Wolves and there were a lot of movie props/references that we didn't get. Then we stopped in Badlands N.P. The scenery was unbelievable. Rather than describe it, just check the photos. There were herds of buffalo there too but you couldn't get close enough for a good picture.
We ate in the town of Wall. The billboards advertising Wall started 322 miles away and we saw them repeatedly about every 10 miles. There wasn't much to see there. One of the hotels boasted that they had an elevator, which may give you a clue as to how little there was to see. We ate our buffalo burgers and left.
Friday night we went to Mt. Rushmore. They have a lighting ceremony every night around 8 p.m. They give a brief synopsis of the 4 presidents and then they invite all current and

First night in Westfield, NY former members of the military in the audience to come down, introduce themselves and help take the flag down.
Saturday was horseback riding and then a visit to the tourist town of Keystone. Today we will be see the Flying T Chuckwagon Supper & Show. Have a listen at www.flyingt.com. Sunday we will be leaving for Yellowstone. There will likely be limited phone/internet access there so look for another update next week
