I actually found this...
It would only be more appropriate if it was a horse and carriage waiting outside the house! Saturday morning, I packed up all my stuff and realised that I may need an extra suitcase just to get things home! Oopsy!! I went to fill my new water bottle up (must drink more water!) and it still had ice in it... Still.. 24 hours later! I'm so impressed. I guess I'm easily pleased! Ha.
I set off east, and then north, with my spotify set to awesome. Three hours into the drive and I hadn't left the state yet. I'd stopped my finger tapping, and was decidedly bored. And so to my hands free kit. I started with calling the parents, and then the siblings, and then several friends... Then I JUST crossed into Georgia.
As I was starting to get monumentally bored, I got off the motorway and drove around looking for a diner or something where I could stop. I found just what I was looking for pulled over and sat typing up some blogs (honestly, I do write them in the moment... It just takes me a whole to post them.) Once I got my head back into a suitable state for driving along the same long stretch of road
for hundreds of miles I set back off figuring, "how much longer could there be?"
Two hours later I was about out of fuel, and stopped for fuel. I think I was the only one who had ever used that gas station and didn't live within a mile. I pre paid for my fuel, and the woman serving me, said, and I quote, "daym missy, I can't understand me a daym word you be sayin!" I told her that I was English and that I have a habit of talking quickly. She replied "I guess that might just be it, you g'wan home now." It was a really weird experience.. But the fuel was cheap so alls well that ends well!
I finally arrived at Joey's at 6:30ish and luckily he'd got me a place to park and a plan for the evening. His house is about 10 minutes outside of Charleston and is a full on lads house. Waiting inside was one if Joeys volleyball friends who came out with us that night, despite staying sober and having to be at work at 6am the following day!
We headed out
Charleston
Might just get rich and buy a house here?? and parked a little ways outside of the main part of Charleston, and walked to the area where all the bars were. My hair stayed down all of ten minutes before the humidity and crazy heat got the better of it, and up it went. We went to a few quite bars including a room top hotel bar with a much needed breeze and a lovely view of the city.
It felt like we'd been out for about half an hour, in reality it had been much longer and everywhere was closing. So we were taken home by Joey's sober friend and proceeded to watch Harry potter! Not sure how time speeded up even further but I blinked and it was gone 4am! Then I blinked some more and was fast asleep.
All in all a pretty good evening. Much quieter than last weekend, and no where near as much crazy dancing as nashville but good conversation, great company and lots of laughs!
