The rain is poring down as I am writing this. I am sitting in my favorite spot in my little home on wheels. My dogs both sound a sleep and happy. Scout came and snuggled up and is snoring. With mixed feelings I am writing down what had happened in the month of my breakdown in South Carolina. I feel sad to leave my new friends behind and get ready to move on. 08-20-10 Weeks of fighting with my insurance company and searching the south for a good replacement bike were finally coming to an end. Early Friday morning my wife and I loaded up in my F-150 and headed to Anderson, SC to look at a really good looking Suzuki V-Strom (DL 650) that I located on Craig’s List. The three hour drive seemed to last forever, but was worth it when I pulled up and saw my new bike sitting in the stranger’s driveway. I looked at my wife and just smiled. Libre al fin!! Hemos cruzado la primera frontera, y no fue fácil. Dejamos atrás Carolina del Norte, o North Cackalacky como le dicen los locales. Muchas veces, aunque extranjero, me sentí local en Cackalacky, pero así es la vida, es cruzar fronteras para crecer. Estamos en Carolina del Sur, donde mi suegro Cap y Teresa la madrastra de Fern. La casa de Cap y Teresa es siempre una maravilla de admirara, la construyó el, con sus manos, su diseño, con amigos y familia, de la misma manera que lo queremos hacer nosotros. Como es en esta zona con 4 estaciones, la casa es solar pasiva y rodeada de bosque.
