We wake on Wednesday morning to clear blue skies. The horrible weather of the past few days has finally blown and rained its fill and we can be off. It is much cooler now and it is time to think about ending our cruise and getting ready to have Pavane hauled for the winter. But first, we will spend a few days revisiting a few special places.

Today, we are heading back down to Jamestown. It is almost exactly one month since we stopped in Jamestown on our outbound journey.

We dine at “Fish”, choosing a seat at the patio bar with the hi-tech pizza oven. This restaurant closes on Mondays and Tuesdays and we arrive just as they are reopening. The service is a bit shambolic as the staff search for keys to open the various lockers and generally prepare the patio area for service. But it is a pleasant spot to hang out and the food is good.

The mooring field is comfortable in the early evening and we enjoy the sunshine and our view of Newport Bridge.

On Thursday morning, we go ashore once again for a simple breakfast at “Slice of Heaven” before taking a walk round the back streets of Jamestown. Almost anywhere you walk here, there are nice old homes and gardens.
