Heading out on a week-long vacation to Oregon, one of the few states I have left to visit. The problem with this trip was deciding where to go, as every part of the state had something of interest to me. In the end, I decided to spend the bulk of my time on the northern coast and the last few days in Portland. I'm hoping to see lots of beautiful views, lighthouses, cheese factories, cute beach towns, giant bookstores, gardens and maybe even a whale if I'm lucky. All this in a little over 7 days!
I was finally able to find flights that worked with all the airline miles I have so am flying basically for free both ways. United to Portland on August 26th and then American back by way of Phoenix on September 3rd.
I'll be staying in the small coastal town of Netarts at the Terimore Motel. My room has a balcony and a view of the ocean. I can't wait!
I'm trying out Airbnb for the first time for my Portland nights. Portland lodging was so expensive but I was able to find a cute cottage in Beaverton for around $60 a night. Score! Hoping it's a good experience.
Oregon coast here I come!
