Visiting Dublin March 20-22, Kilkenny March 22-24, Cashel and Dingle March 24-25, overnight in Ennis March 25-26 before leaving from Shannon on Fri March 26 Geo: 45.0236, -123.113
Greetings, all!
Posting this as a dry run on this travel blog. Sharon in the midst of her second 12-hour day in a row with teacher conferences going on, trusting me way too much to do basic packing and final preparations. She shouldn't have any problems sleeping on the trans-Atlantic leg of the trip tomorrow!
Added an international calling plan to my phone, so that's the only one traveling with us, in case you need to reach us. Warned Sharon she can't pull any Costcos on me . . . wandering away while shopping and the only way to find each other is calling on the cell phone.
BTW, dial 011 + 353 + my number if you need to reach us in an emergency. Looks like Dublin and Ireland are on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), 7 hours ahead of west coast PDT and 4 hours ahead of east coast EDT.
Lucy staying home for this one, will be in charge of things while Ashley house- and dog-sits. Thank goodness for Ashley!
Itinerary for the trip is:
Fri March 19 PDX-SLC-Paris-Dublin (what travelers do to save $$$!)
Sat March 20 AR Dublin for 2 nights
Mon March 22 LV Dublin (on left side of road in right side of car) for Kilkenny, 1 night
Tues March 23 Kilkenny-to-Dingle by way of Rock of Cashel, stay Dingle 2 nights
Wed March 24 Dingle Peninsula
Thurs March 25 LV Dingle for Cliffs of Moher and Ennis, County Clare, 1 night
Fri March 26 LV from Shannon on return flight to US (by way of London-Minneapolis-PDX)
Will add pictures along the way! Let us know what you think, what you want to know about, and what's happening in the NCAA tournament (go Zags!). We hope to have internet access through our netbook.
Slainte!
