Heräsin klo 5. Päästiin liikkeelle klo 6.30. Marko halusi ehtiä ajoissa ennen ruuhkia. Tankattiin auto sillä seudulla, jossa oli kuvattu Twin Peaks. Pysähdyttiin kerran kuvaamaan ja kerran vessan takia. Majoitus oli varattu Pendletonista, josta jatketaan aamulla pimennysvyöhykkeelle. Oltiin perillä jo klo 12. Lounaalle. Marko osti kameran. Hyödynsin kaupan wifiä. Hotelliin ostin 3 dollarin wifin, jota saatoin käyttää vain yhdessä laitteessa. Valitsin tabletin. Pulahdin uima-altaassa. Illalla käytiin näköalapaikalla mäen päällä ja kasinolla intiaanireservaatissa. Siellä seisova pöytä. Siitä sai vielä yli 50-vuotias 10 % alennusta. Huomasin että aik... read more

After leaving Diamond Lake we spent one night in Prineville at an RV Park that had full hook-ups and a Laundromat. You guessed it! We needed to do laundry and reorganize for our trip ahead. It was sad to see how the economy has affected this area of Oregon. The park we were in used to be a very active place, but now it is used primarily by low-income families who cannot afford to live in regular housing. This park, along with others, is up for sale. It was first listed for $1.3 Million. Now they have it up for just $650,000 and it is still not selling!! A huge park with meeting room, pool and spa, hook-up sites and a large tent area. People cannot afford to keep up these places and are losing it ... read more

The next morning – Tuesday – we headed on up to Pendleton, Oregon. Following a long 300+ mile route, we arrived late afternoon and checked in and schlepped all our gear into our room. We decided to continue our microbrewery adventures by stopping at Prodigal Son, a local place that is getting rave reviews. I can tell you why – fantastic beer! We will most likely need to cool it with the beer soon as our digestive tracts are in full rebellion and I am quickly realizing that I may not have work pants that fit me upon our return. But back to the beer – I started with the Stout, thick and chocolaty with nitrogen. Jim had the Sun-Ra, a phenomenal Belgian that I decided to try too. Rather than order dinner, we stuck with ... read more

Idaho was uneventful with views of farm fields and cows. When we crossed the Oregon border the scenary immediately became GORGEOUS. I love the green hills and the snow-capped mountains. We stopped in Baker Oregon for ice cream. What a beautiful quaint town between two mountain ranges. I wish I had time to shop - but with a dog in the car it is hard to explore too far from the car. The visitors centers have been our places of relaxing, dog walks, and pictures. Otherwise, I have to capture the views through the window at 75 miles per hour. We got into Pendleton early so have time to relax, swim, walk outside in the mild weather, and give Graycee a bath. Only 3 or 4 hours to Keizer, Oregon where we will stay for two ... read more

Monday 19th April We said good bye to St Helen's this morning and hello to Pendleton tonight. Still in Oregon, we are making our way to Vegas via Idaho and Utah. Along the way today, we had a rest stop not far from Mosier and happened along some squirrels! I don't know if they carry rabies, but they are cute little things and very friendly. They were eating right out of our hands! The scenery in this part of Oregon is very flay and not as pretty as the road from San Fran to St Helen's. Pendleton is a town that is very spread out with no distinguishing features. ... read more
