The reason we met at La Pine was to visit the Lava Lands and the High Desert Museum. The girls also had fun riding their bikes around the campground, playing on grandpa's hammock and chasing squirrels and chipmunks!!
On Friday we packed up camp and moved on down to Diamond Lake Forest Service Campground close to Crater Lake. Again we were very fortunate to get a PERFECT spot, all as a result of a slip up in the office. While the guys were checking out a site to see if we would fit, the other person in the office sold that spot not knowing that we were next in line. They felt so bad they sent us to another site which was even nicer!! Unfortunately the day we went to Crater Lake it was very smoky from the forest fire down near Redding, California. However, after Richard went home, we went back on Monday and had a much clearer day.
