The one about things seen along the road and a great casino (((Sorry, too tired to do a real good job proofreading, sorry if this is a tough read tonight)) I thought Winston was finally adjusted to CDT. Not so, as he had me up at 5 this morning. I did manage to snooze until 6, but he was a PAIN in the patootie. I love my new RV it is so easy to break camp. I took him for a long walk, showered and was on the road before 8:30. I planned to drive 300+ miles today, my longest day to date. COMING HOME Day 29: May 27, 2013 I finished my cold pizza breakfast and then paid a visit up Hwy 62 to the little town of Boley, OK. Boley was incorporated in 1905 on land belonging to the Creek Nation as an all-black community capable of self-government. Oklahoma boasted of about two dozen such communities. It is still an all-black community but it seems to have fallen on hard times. All of the nice old brick buildings that used to house thriving hubs of industry are closed down and boarded up. The only places open are a liquor store and the post office. A few of its good citizens were found lounging on a street corner and all of them were already drunk by 9am. Arriving in Shawnee we're guided to our parking by the 2011 National SMART Muster crew and struggled with a malfunctioning anchor/leveler which caused us to park in a relatively flat area and wait until the muster was completed to fix the anchor (with the help of fellow traveler and expert mechanic Larry Eliot who previously aided us on the Alaskan Caravan). The annual muster was well hosted with many activities and tours, more than enough to eat, and wonderful fellowship for all. The Nomads Chapter hosted breakfast and happy hour munchies, living up to their definition: Nomads are wanderers in search of food. We again noted that SMART's main problem is that those eligible (military veterans) aren't aware of the wonderful opportunities of membership.
