The trip from Amarillo began as dry scrubby ranchland but eventually became rolling hills, larger trees and green fields. Ranching and oil seem to be the sources of revenue. Oklahoma City is a very modern economic centre. We went downtown and took the guided boat ride on a canal which is a part of the downtown redevelopment. We then walked through the city and visited the site of the Oklahoma bombing in 1995. A memorial has been created at the site. The city is very busy with several conventions as well as a gathering of hot rods several of which are at the hotel. Guests at the hotel are sitting in lawn chairs by the side of the road watching as the hot rods pass by. Tonorrow we head into Arkansas.
