Oklahoma' Lake Murray Resort Park is a treasure! We had a wonderful time exploring this park in February. An easy drive north from Fort Worth, but a world away from the rush of the city! We had a great time exploring and visiting with family in February. First stop was the ATV camp area. The muddin' playground was open for business! The sunshine after weeks of rainy days was the perfect weather for the local off-road /all-terrain enthusiasts. The parking lot was filling quickly with pickup trucks, cattle trailers, open trailers and any other means for hauling 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers to the park. With over 1,000 acres of mostly boggy mud, the fun times begin. Ardmore Oklahoma is located about 90 miles north of Dallas Texas on Interstate 35. The area around Ardmore is filled with farms and ranches. Tourism provides a solid source of revenue for the area with all the lakes and casinos. The Santa Fe Railroad was a significant factor in the economic development of this town. A Michelin Tire Plant is among the areas largest employer. Distribution centers for Dollar Tree and Dollar General are in the area and a Wal Mart distribution center is not too far away. The town host the Charles B. Goddard Center for the Performing Arts, the Great Southwestern Historical Museum and the Ardmoire Little Theater. Hi Everyone, I just got back on Saturday from a 12 day stay in Ardmore, OK doing a Staples remodel. Let me tell you, this one was very different from the Bartlesville remodel. First I'll tell you about Ardmore. Ardmore is a town of 32,000 people about a half hour from the Texas border. It is a very nice friendly town. Between the hours of 8am and 10PM traffic is as bad as Wichita, KS. People are always on the go. It has a movie theatre, several restaurants of varying caliber, a Wal-Mart, a mall, a Hastings Book Store, and a very quaint looking downtown and several other stores and things to do.
