I gave a lot of thought into the name of my new blog. I wanted to keep it simple, yet capture what I love most about traveling. Every time I embark on a new journey across this vast world, I discover more about life. I discover more about lifestyles, cultures, religions, ways of life, interactions between people, morals, even different cuisines; especially I learn more about myself, who I am, and who I want to be.

I am getting ready for my next adventure, May 14th. I will be traveling to Charlottesville, VA where I will stay the weekend with my long term best friend, Caitlin, as a stopping point en route to Washington D.C. for my Monday flight to Iceland! Caitlin and I share this same passion for traveling; we've both completed several study abroad trips in our undergraduate careers, her at Miami of Ohio, and me at The Ohio State University. When I first asked her if that particular weekend worked for her to host me in Charlottesville and explained about my flight from D.C. Monday to Iceland, she called me immediately. The coincidence she immediately recognized is that I will be gone 10 days, traveling the Ring Road, which circles the country. The day after I return, she will embark on the same exact adventure, Ring Road and all for, you guessed it, 10 days. This coincidence still makes me smile. Caitlin and I are both very busy women in our careers and I do not frequently get to "catch up" with her. I plan a trip out to see her at least twice a year, and when she returns to Ohio for holidays, we make an effort to get together. We will always be close friends, who share several of the same passions and drives life has to offer. The realization we are embarking on the same exact adventure secures this closeness we have, despite our different paths of life.

I created this blog to share with you all the transcending experience associated with traveling. I hope you find interest in my adventures and are able to take something away from them! I also created this blog as an online travel journal for myself to look back on. Every trip I take, I journal. There is value in journaling. One is able to capture his/her thoughts regarding a particular situation, reaction to a sight or interacion, or simply a breakdown of one's day to day en devours.
