Amish ridin' WARNING....BORING BLOG!
Hello there my sugar plums! I dearly miss you all and need many hugs when I get home and to La. You can start scheduling appointments with my secretary....oh sorry...administrative assistant, Markuz.
OH...tear. I just saw a commercial for "Visit California." Miss it soooo much.
On to other things. We had a rough week of driving. Lots of it. We left Indianaplois and went to Des Moines. It was cute, but we didn't really experience it. We did a show and left. We headed to Evansville/Tilden Illinois. The teachers were great. So were the kids. They loved us at both schools. The last school in Tilden was really small. A teacher was telling us that they have a high chance of being shut down. Tragic. You guys should check out TravelingLantern.com. Look at the blog and there are pics of us and letters from kids and teachers to us.
We left these towns and went to East Alton, IL. There was no place to stay within budget and good there, so we went 20 miles to Missouri. It was only 7 minutes from my brothers house, so we went over. He wasn't answering his phone
the beginning
Purple clouds so we went to the doorstep. He took us to a chinese buffet and then to Charlie's to sing karaoke for my b-day night before. It was nice to be with him...again. The next day (my birthday) was not exciting at all. We had 2 exausting shows the next day..and I mean exausting. Then I forgot my credit card at Charlie's so we had to return. We had CiCi's Pizza. There isn't one in cali, but there is one in La. It was a great birthday of pizza buffet...classy. We then drove 6 1/2 hours to Syracuse, IN. We had a wonderful Shakespeare....our favorite so far. We left and went to South Bend....home of Notre Dame...to get the car fixed. If any of you happen to be there ever....go to Midas and talk to Rick. He is a genius. He talked to us and explained things and got it fixed. I love him. The lady at the desk also brought us to a restaraunt and picked us up....sweet. We talked to her for a while and she was in shock about how much we...in CALI...pay for an apartment. Well.
We had no idea where to go for our 3
day weekend so we drove around and decided to stay there. That sounded good until we spent 2 1/2 hours looking for a place to stay. Finally we found a place with exersize room. We worked out in the morn and night then drove to Shipshewana.....in Amish Country. I was so excited. Although I didn't get to really hang out with any amish, it was fun. We had lunch there and Sonja our server was great. She asked why we were there, and then she said "I always dreamed that I would serve celebrities." She was so kind and helpful when I realized that my soup had bacon in it. However in retrospect, that was weird that I was just there, watching them. I didn't even know who was amish. Those mennonites look like them but are not. Tricksters. But, its not a zoo, they are people. Too late now.
We left still not knowing where to go, so we finally made a reservation in Cincinatti, so we had to go. The drive was attrocious (sp?). Good thing Markuz was driving. We hit a huge thunderstorm. There was literally lightning every 5 seconds or less. Then we were
there is is
the beginning of a 6 hour storm stopped on the freeway for 1 hour. OMG. A powerline across the freeway had fallen somehow and cars were strewn all over the freeway. We were out ofthe car talking to people. What an experience.
By the time we got to the room, it was 11pm and we couldn't find our 2nd wind, so we slept. But its on tonight. We worked out this morning went downtown and had thai food, and now we are resting for the fun. There is a great website called gaybarmaps.com (but only 3 states are on it) that has a map of all the bars in natti. We are on a mission and cannot fail.
By the way, Cincinatti was very depressing. We keep telling ourselves not to expect beauty, but wow. There sould be many reasons to the bleakness of the city, the cold, the time, the homeless, we don't know. Oh America.
well...wish me luck

Okay. I am a bit startled because I just realized that in all of my years spent on this planet in this particular life, I have never seen a cloud. Not really. I thought I had..........nothing makes sense to me anymore.......... love you big, amy PS-you got some mail from your lawyer's office....could it be important? Also, getting big fat envelopes from the IRS is never good news. Don't worry...it's me, not you. We'll chat. :(
