Last week, we set out in search of our new home, traveling to Delaware, OH and then up to Akron, OH to look at some motorhomes that piqued our interest during our easy on-line on-couch search. It was the coldest weekend of the year, at -25 degree wind chills as we headed north to Akron. Bitter cold and wind as we trudged through the snow on our search. I believe we were the only people in the world seeking to buy a motorhome in Akron that day. All the smart people (along with all the salesmen) were in some convention center in the warmth, in Cleveland, for the big annual RV show. Not the Joneses! Oh well, as the family motto says… “If you are going to be dumb, you’ve got to be tough!”

We were unsuccessful in our quest, and we spent the night in Akron (thank you Cass for the discount! You can never, ever leave the hospitality industry!), and woke up to snow, fierce winds, blowing, and drifting. I was ready just to stay at the hotel another day…I don’t like the cold and slippery roads! But it did calm through the morning, so we then headed to visit with my mom near Bellefontaine, OH. Google maps thinks that snowy county roads made for a better 3 hour trip than highways with snow plows! After a great visit with mom, my niece Chelsea and her hubby Kyle, we hit the road again, stopping by a birthday party along the way and then visiting with Jack’s brother and his wife before heading home.

Next plan, to hit some local places again this week, and Jack wants to go to Michigan (did he learn nothing from Akron???), and/or to Tennessee (I am ok with that). We will keep searching until we find what God has in store for us. We know that He will provide what we need. And quite frankly, if He doesn’t want us to even go, then we don’t want to.

What we do know is this: “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him” 1 Corinthians 2:9. We believe that God has a plan for us. We know what doors have been opened thus far, the barriers that have been broken down. This trip, this opportunity, is a trip of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, of personal growth, and opportunity to show the love of Christ everywhere we go. Praise God for being with us as we prepare to embark on this journey. It is my desire to follow where He leads, and not set off on the course of my own intentions! Do you love Him? If so, we desire your prayers along with our own, that we be attuned to God’s voice, that we follow His way, and that He place insurmountable blocks in our way if we stray from His plan. Thanks for caring about us. XOXO
