Why Hello there, It’s that time again for everyone who is interested to read my travel stories again, this time it’s been an intense struggle to find the time and place to actually sit down and type it all out and I doubt I’ll get it all done today which is a dire shame indeed. This journal will document my last 14 days in the USA and at the bottom I shall list all the great bits and then all the shitty bits that have shaped my adventure thus far. Sitting here in Germany in a lazy Country town, it seems like the best place to remenise (sp?) and throw stones. Without further verbal diareah, let us begin. I had booked 3 days at Niagara Falls whilst I had been in Washington DC, so the following ... read more

If you come to America, you should be destined to see the Niagra Falls.Without much a say,it is inevitably the most beautiful romantic wonder. We,a group of friends, decided to take a road trip from a much populated New Jersey through the calm serenity of New York state to Niagra at Buffalo.I remember it was a overnight trip, least to say we lost our directions in New Jersey and reached Buffalo at sun rise.We stayed in a small motel and took a nap. While we parked our car at the parking lot in Buffalo,I saw some tall buildings from the 3 storied parking plaza and on close inspection I read CANADA on one of the tall towers. Now imagine standing on American soil,so far no view of the falls and in less than a mile you see buildings that belong to ... read more

The 14-hour journey to Niagara Falls from Philadelphia first stopped off at New York City. We were able to stretch our legs and get our first glimpse of the city that would eventually mark the conclusion of the trip. The long journey across New York state gave me and appreciation of the sheer size of American states, practically countries in their own right it is an impressive tribute to the founding fathers, whose initial spirit of co-operation and trust first bound these huge states together to form one nation. The passenger rail network in the US is very minimal. Commercial freight trains take priority over passenger services, so at many points along the journey we found ourselves either waiting or reversing our direction of travel in order to allow other trains to pass. Eventually at about ... read more

After a restless last night in Buffalo - lots of street noise, ambient light and spontaneous beeping from charging cellphones and cameras, and a roommate who got up at 5am to spend an hour packing before catching her 6:30 train, we set off north east on the dot of ten past ten to check out a certain famous strait between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario - The Niagara Falls. Avoiding the main highway to save on tolls, we meandered along the riverside, through the towns of Towanda and LaSalle, to Niagara, where we hastened straight to the bottom of a 200ft elevator shaft at an alarmingly fast rate - I forget the exact statistic the disembodied voice (of doom?) read out, but it was fast. Ju was thrilled she was able to sweet talk the ticket ... read more

Buffalo reminds me of the saucy Buffalo Wing! Buffalo, New York was the first destination I went after the camp. The reason I visited Buffalo was the Niagara Falls - The largest fall in the world. My friend and I arrived at Buffalo early in the morning but we were stucked at the bus station due to the rain outside. We walked out from the station after 2 hours later and headed to the hostel and it wasn't that hard to look for the hostel and as soon as we arrived at the hostel, we were welcomed by a very friendly staff there and she were so kind by provided us lots of useful information on Buffalo and even suggested us the itinerary during our stay in Buffalo. Such a wonderful woman :) After a quick ... read more

The day started lazily with me deciding to go touring the Niagara falls with my brother. We started at around 12 noon, stopping to get a quick bite at the krispy kreems shop and proceeded to the state of New york in northwest direction from Boston. Located at the western end of New york and bounded by Canada on the other side, Niagara is one of the most beautifl and natural splendor abounding with perennial water. Originally an indian settlement and later an industrial town, today Niagara is a beautiful wonder with tourists flocking fom all over the world. I reached the falls at about 7 pm in the evening. After a quick stroll through the Niagara park, I took the "Cave of the Wind" tour that promises to take to the base of the waterfall ... read more

far out! hve just been to Niagra falls and walked into Canada on my day off - so cool! had an amazing day checking out the falls and being a good old tourist! If you ever get the chance to go to Niagra, then do it, cos its honestly worth it. People here at camp have said that its really boring and a waste of time, but it soooo isnt! the sheer height and power of the falls and water is.....i dont know! its just amazing! you really have to experience it for yourselves to fully understand. The water that flows over the falls come from the great lakes, and travel out into the atlanta ocean - that in itself is cool! Did the Maid of the Mist boat ride (did some of yous get my ... read more

We stopped this morning at the Great Lakes for breakfast and to organize the bus before we get off in New York. We were on Lake Erie on the Ohio shore. The water was actually quite warm. Of course it was nice to get in the water after three days without a shower. We then loaded up the bus and started the trip over to Niagra Falls. We arrived in about 8:00 pm. Unfortunately the Maid of the Mist Tour was closed but the Cave of the Winds Tour was still open. We took the elevator down the side of the mountain and ended up near the Bridleveil Falls. I had to call my Mom because the last time we were there my Mom got lost under the falls and grabbed onto a man that wasn't ... read more
