Hey hey, i arrived in New York on thursday morning at like 1am, not great. After dodging the dodgy cab drivers at the airport, i finally found my shuttle ride and arrived at the hostel. there was a 3hr time change so i lost a few hours and ended up sleeping in til midday. after that i was in desperate need of some clean clothes and so made my way down to the local laundrette, what an experience that was. it seemed like it was in a neighbourhood much like that of say the fitzroy comission flats, bit seedy, but educational all the same.
given the hostel did not have the atmosphere the others had, and i was worried i wouldn't meet people to hang out with, i started chatting to a guy in the laundry, who looked like a foreigner. i was right, he turned out to be German and good value, his name is Fabian and he too is staying a the hostel. score. we hung out yesterday as he gave a quick guide and then went to a bar last night. it was bizarre, kind of r&b club, turns out fabian can dance and we had a wicked time. after a 3am bedtime, we got up early and lined up for rush hour broadway tickets....and got them. after the morning touring down town on the hop on/off bus, in the scorching sun, we went to see CHICAGO all for $26, love a bargain. it was a amazing. new york is awesome, am loving it too. the shopping is just rediculous and i'm spending money like it's going out of fashion. not sure what tonight will bring, heading out to soho for some dinner and then who knows, only 2 more nights after tonight.....looking forward to going to see a gospel choir in harlem tomorrow morning, then checking out brooklyn and central park. life is great XXXXXXXXXXXX
