Coney Island

Gateway National Recreation Area

This maybe one of the most strangest places we have camped at. It is the only National Park, within a city, in the country. it is the only campground in New York City. It was the first airport in New York City, now you need to Google Floyd Bennett Airport. We camped on one of the runways, they had no hook-ups, but our RV is self sufficient. This morning we biked to Coney Island...the bike trail runs next to the parkway then out to the ocean. It was about 8 miles each way. Bob enjoyed a hot dog at Nathan's and Kel had a yummy lobster roll. When we returned, we had a history tour of the first Airport in NY ...Bennett Field, with the Ranger. It was excellent.
