The Statue of Liberty has gone a long way since it was given by France to the United States, it has become a witness of the Global diaspora mainly of African refugees when the New World is trying to build the continental America.
The Staten Island used to accommodate the refugees who went sailing from across the Atlantic to find greener pastures.
A ferry boat from lower Manhattan's Battery Park takes you to the famous icon of US immigration. From the island a panoramic view of New York and it's skyline minus the Twin Towers.
