…and it’s good to get out of the rain.

For two weeks it has either rained or threatened rain and been hovering in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Which, in retrospect, has actually been a good thing as there have been no sunburns and all our plans have been able to go through comfortably.

Beginning mileage today 3498. Latitude 36.9989646, Longitude-109.045219. Short drive today to the Grand Canyon. However, we made a stop at the Four Corners monument located in the Navajo Nation. We were each in a different state at the same time. I thought it was pretty cool and then started to think of when that may actually happen again—maybe when the boys go off to college?

As we made our way from Colorado, through New Mexico, (brief walk through Utah) and into Arizona we definitely drove through desert, which is a new experience for me. Unlimited visibility and nothing anywhere for all those miles.

Inevitably, our breaths were taken away as we pulled into Grand Canyon National park and made our first stop along the South Rim.

Ending mileage today, 3793.
