Day 23-24 Petrified forest_Painted Desert_Meteor Crater_Roswell

This was a long 2 day road trip that we used to our advantage. Our route wound through parts of Arizona, New Mexico ending in White City NM. Maggie especially enjoyed this part because she was with us all the time and got to get out of the Beast a lot to walk with us. At the petrified forest, Barb asked about dogs being allowed because of urinating on the petrified logs..the lady at the counter looked at her and laughed... "The logs are rock! I don't think it will hurt them." Duh! The painted desert was dramatic in the late day sunlight.Another Wal Mart night in the Beast and then on the road again. Steve with his aeronautic background, just had to see Meteor Crater in NM. Really massive! the photos don't do it justice We arrived in White City just in time for the beautiful sunset.
