Wednesday we had to be at the boat yard by noon then the owner called and said 11:45. We were slow to leave camp but had time to run to the plaza to view the Loretto Chapel. This is no longer an active church but it's history is amazing. The staircase is the big attraction. The church was also very pretty and beautiful stained glass - love this.
http://www.lorettochapel.com/index.html $3 entry free for all day.
Walked back to the car - these bronze pieces were at a gallery and so pretty. Found our way into the park from yesterday for a quick sandwich.
Off to river rafting. Signed our lives away on the waiver then loaded up. Our guide was Joe and safety person Katy. I think the waiver is more for the drive up and back in the van. Great guides but driving skills? Joe told us all kinds of awesome stuff about the area on the drive up - about an hour. The artwork on the highway is from a million $ grant for beautification. Umm okay. I was really nervous about the whole rafting thing but David wanted to really bad. Awesome fun but
still scary. I think our guide was pleasantly surprise that the chubby folks could really paddle so good. We also had a very tiny local lady and her nephew visiting from England. Wish I had more pics but the photo ladies normally on the river were not out that day. Just know I looked hot in my swimsuit, life jacket and helmet.
http://santaferafting.com/ $160 for the half day trip. This includes the ride there & back from Santa Fe, guided trip with lots of facts for area , they also have a safety person in kayak, then a snack when you get off the river. Cause you are starving.
We also learned a new recipe from Katy and Joe. River Thai Food - take one salty tortilla chip and slather peanut butter on it. Take another chip and put hot salsa on it. Then sandwich together and enjoy! LOL
Got back to town safe & sound. That is Joe in the pics with David. Katy had to take off pretty quick. Starving but needed to clean up. Headed to camp for a shower.
Then super good food at this Italian place and
service was superb. David had a calzone & I had a small pizza. Our waitress Ashley was super super sweet. She made sure everything was just right. She had asked why I didn't get iced tea and I explained that when we go west I don't drink tea past the Texas border. It's not Texas Sweet Tea. She laughed because she knew it was true. I totally I make my own and bottle it up for road trips. She said she would love to try to make some like that. I told I had some in the car, when were done I brought it to her & she loved it! Traded me a fresh baked cookie for it too!

David had spotted another casino on the way back from the river so we were off to check out the Ohkay Casino . It was more than ok it was fun and won some $$$. My only complaint was we were too tired to stay longer LOL. Signed up for players card and given $10 each in freeplay and a $5 table match play. I was bummed out and
lost everything. I talked David into one more $20 to play with. Total $60 He said okay and he had found the the Can Can games I have been dying to play. Played down to $5 getting bummed out then hit the bonus @ 3x. Got free spins and bam big win for $95. Then I was happy! Next played the 3d game till my eyes crossed with a profit. Then hit a big yabba dabba do bonus on Flintsones. Won enough to make up for the last two days losses.
