The New Meadowlands Stadium may see football in early February. The weather rule was uplifted by the National Football League (NFL), which will now allow the New Meadowlands Stadium to place a bid for Super Bowl 2014.

The New Meadowlands Stadium was granted a bid as a one time only deal in order to celebrate the opening of the new stadium. Three other stadiums have already expressed interest for the bid. The preliminary proposal is due on April 1 and the winner will be announced by late May.

There has been an overwhelming support for this bid throughout the New Jersey/New York region. If granted the location for Super Bowl 2014 it will help the areas economically as well as add to the history of the region.

The New Meadowlands Stadium will officially open next season and will be home to the New York Giants and New York Jets. The stadium seats 82,500 people and will be the third-largest stadium in the NFL.
