Ughhh....I'm never drinking again. Yesterday was a rough one but I pushed through the hangover in the name of the trip. Was it the heat? Was it the Mai Tai? Was it the Rye and Gingers that are slowly becoming my trademark cocktail of choice? Too hard to say, but what I do know is that I need the only hangover cure strong enough to combat all three...BREAKFAST!
It was on this day that I discovered the Tropical Cafe, all breakfast all day! Oh sure it was gloriously over priced but gloriously worth it! I did get a small total rewards discount which reduced my eggs, sausage links, and potatoes to a mere $10 though haha. After refueling, I ran into my friend Dave who was exploring the nearby suburb of Henderson; home to his girlfriend's family. As exciting as that did sound, I opted to relax by the pool and take a lazy morning. After a refreshing dip, I met up with the gang at Bally's. Rob D, by this time, had amassed a small fortune being up over $1000. The man had the Midas touch at everything he played. We gambled some more which consisted of my breaking
even and Rob winning even more lol. After a few hours, we decided to color up and begin to plan our evening.
We wanted to hit up one of the hot new night clubs in Vegas, but there was a division among the group on how that was to occur. There was the baller side that wanted to mack out. I'm talking about straight VIP bottle service. The other group was not as committed to the lofty price tag that naturally came with running with the bulls. We ended up compromising. We started the night at the Carnival Bar, pregaming with some reasonably priced drinks. The bartenders did an interesting flare show with the liquor bottles and they had an awesome cover band rocking out the house. Ana's mom and her future husband were there as well and we also had the opportunity to meet his side of the family. It was here that Danielle met the man of her dreams...err...well the man of someones dreams at least. Apparently one of her majesty's subjects, of the sovereign nation of Australia, took a fancying to our young Danielle...and her brother Rob took a fancying to making sure the Aussie never
set foot on American soil if you know what I mean! There was not much known about the young man with the blond back hair. We believe his name was Elwood, as that is what his t-shirt said but there was no way to be certain. I give the man credit as he was very generous with his drink buying, but no amount of generosity was going to win over Rob...unfortunate.
After a while we said some quick goodbyes, dropped the Aussie and then we were off to the Palazzo. We met a promoter who got us a great deal at one of the lounge bars there. Unlimited champagne until midnight for the women and buy one get one free drinks for the men with free admission. We ended up hanging there for the night, enjoying a nice drink and yes continuing to shake our tail feathers. It wasn't a posh trendy mega club, but it was a more intimate setting and enjoyable for everyone involved. Once that was over, we met up with David and Evelyn, who had taken a break from the raw unbridled excitement of Henderson, to continue the night. We tried to search for a
new dance spot but the only after hours club available was at Wild Bill's Casino with a $30 cover charge. At this point, people were all tapped out, so we found another lounge to chill at and called it a night from there. I would say this was one of the most enjoyable nights so far. There was drinking, there was dancing, and best of all the was minimal drama!
