Hoover Dam
Approaching the Hoover Dam in some of the busiest traffic ever. 03/07/2010 – We were all up early to have a very good breakfast in the hotel beside Bright Angel Lodge. Hannah and I had come here with our trek group in 2007 and remember having a very decent breakfast, we weren’t disappointed this time either. Afterwards we packed our gear into the 4WD and shortly after we were on the road back towards Las Vegas. We knew the drive was long, but had no idea it would take as long as it did. We spent well over two hours queuing to cross the single lane Hoover Dam and when we finally got to it I didn’t go over 5 miles an hour, incredibly frustrating. So finally we made it back into Las Vegas, where we headed straight for the airport to drop of the hire car. We took a taxi to New York, New York Hotel and Casino and checked in. It was a nice room, good view of the strip but didn’t compare to The Wynn.
Tonight was our last night in Vegas and Hannah and I were up for a few drinks and some gambling as well. But first we headed back to Serendipity in Caesars Place for

Peeking through the bushes for an amazing view. dinner, but mainly dessert. We only had entrée’s so we could tuck in to some of their famous but ridiculous desserts. We returned to New York, New York Casino to try our luck at the tables. My time so far in Vegas had been terribly unlucky but finally tonight I was doing much better, Hannah too was winning. It was quite early when Selina & Ash decided to call it a night and head back to the room, we were a little surprised because it was still very early. But that didn’t stop Hannah and I, we did very well on the tables in New York, New York then headed to Excalibur to have a go on the tables there. We returned to our room in the early hours after a great night out together.
04/07/2010 – Independence Day, and our last day in amazing Las Vegas. Our flight was later this afternoon so this morning we had a little extra time for some shopping/gambling. Last night I had noticed that this morning New York, New York casino was putting on Craps lessons. Being a croupier in the past I was very familiar with most casino games, however I

Looking out the window as we cross the Hoover Dam had no idea about craps. So while I headed down for a free craps lesson while Hannah went shopping for some new shoes. The hour long lesson was very good, but I think we were all nervous about putting some money down on an expensive table. However since we were all new the casino opened a $5 table for us to get used to the game. My $100 disappeared very quickly and with that being said I lasted a lot longer than other on our table.
Afterwards I met Hannah who was spending all our money on shoes. We grabbed some lunch then met Selina and Ash to get a taxi to Las Vegas Airport to catch our long flight back to London. We all had a fantastic time in the States and although Hannah and I had been to most of the places before, we still had an incredible time.
