Having eventually navigated ourseleves through the outskirts of the city and debated over whether we were facing north or south and whether we needed to go east or west we finally managed to find our way to the hotel and joys of joys it had a pool. Motel 6 are great cheap hotels especially as Seb and Dominic are free and are usually in good locations. this one was just two blocks from The Strip.
So despite having driven 175 miles and toured a National Park earlier that morning we some how found the energy and the curiosity to walk the long 3 mile road!
Dominic was in his element as we travelled past MGM buildings and great huge lions in gold guarding the entrance, then walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and passed the Statue of Liberty...... Further down we venttured into the gaudy streets of Paris and the Eiffel Tower pass the Arc de Triomphe and then the Trevi Fountaian and The Colosseum. A whistle Stop Tour of Europe!
The fountains outside the Bellagio danced and changed colour as the music played and the cannons and Pirates played out an unusual version of pirates and spaniards in a sea battle, complete with sinking ship and scantilly dressed woman dancing up and down the rigging!!!! A different version to poledancing I guess all very Vegas!
So having walked the entire length of the strip and paid over our budget for dinner at a Harley Davison restaurant we headed back to the hotel around 1.30 in the morning exhausted.
Interestingly enough the boys were not that taken with the glist and bustle of the city, could have been because of the age restrictions.
Perhaps they will return one day without their mother in tow!
Exhausted we flopped into bed around 2.45! Looking forward to leaving although you have to come and see for yourself and then make your own decision, we can at least tick it off on our todo list.
For those wanting to see those scantilly dressed girls dancing up and down the rigging I am afraid the images are on the other camera and I have not down loaded them yet, perhaps you need to come and see them for yourself?
