Hello again! So travels/lack of internet in the apartment (it’s a long complicated story… but eventually it got worked out) is my reasoning for why it took so long for me to post this blog. Anyway, I shall try to catch you up on what I have been up to. :-) Last week I was out in Gold Butte once again, looking for those elusive Gila Monsters. This time, they change the plan of attack a bit. We were still supposed to hike around the washes they are likely to be in, but we also had to drive around the roads in our area, just looking out the window for either tracks or the animal itself. I went out with Bryant, one of the staff members. We basically just drove around on Monday, spending soooo many ... read more

Hello again! Certain people have been demanding (or, asking politely) for another one of these things, but I was waiting until I had something exciting to report. lol. And now I finally do! Hey all! So I have arrived safe and sound in sunny Nevada! It was actually really gorgeous weather when I got here last night... in the mid 70s and breezy. Don't know what sort of weather today holds though. So, the plane ride was smooth and uneventful. Those of you wondering how Southwest is... I give it an A+++. The whole crew was super friendly, and the head stewardess was HILARIOUS. she had the entire plane cracking up. It was great. Plus, checking baggage is freeeeeeee! One possible down side, they dont even offer a meal. But, they had plenty of snacks and drinks. So just make sure you bring food for a meal and you will be set! :) Kay, my plug for Southwest is over now. hehe. Ya'll had told me what the Vegas ... read more

Ready for our second 'summer adventure', Linda and I headed for Henderson and Las Vegas for another long weekend of fun. Since it was a holiday weekend we decided to get a jump on things and so came in late Thursday night. We checked into the Boulder Station hotel, since we knew we'd just be sleeping there. The next morning we headed out to Henderson, where we stayed the next three nights at the beautiful Hyatt resort. It was pretty much a party weekend, in which we stayed out late every night, slept in, and then did some moderate sightseeing during the day. Friday night was dancing at Gilley's in the Frontier, Saturday night we went to New York, New York to see the late showing of 'Zumanity' (a very entertaining show) and then hung out ... read more
