July 27th, 2013 8:13 PDT Day 18 We got an earlier start today because our travel was to Henderson, NV., 346 miles. The first 50 miles were slow because there were many long hills to climb. It got real cold throughout the morning. Mae had two light jackets on and used one of my jackets to cover her legs, I endured with one light jacket and sweat pants, I was very cold. As we dropped in altitude the air got warmer, then came the sun. By the time we got to within 50 miles of Las Vegas, NV., it got hot (99 degrees), we decided to fold the top of front windshield down, the air felt good, drove this way to our motel.
