Greetings from St. Regis, Montana! I meant to stop in Idaho. I really did. It just didn't happen. In my defense, the riding was good and the day started off weird... Early this morning as I was having my coffee in the motel parking lot in Issaquah and looking over the bike for today's ride, an older gentleman in an Army sweatshirt approached me. "That your bike?" he demanded. I said that it was. He then said "I was very unhappy to see it there this morning." "Why?" I replied. He then proceeded to tell me about a friend of his who crashed and died on the exact same bike. Creepy, yes? Our journey from Yellowstone to Glacier NP was broken into two days by a stop off in the state capital of Montana, Helena. This was a pretty uneventful stop other than getting pizza and the scumminess of the motel that we stayed in. Anyway it served its purpose as a good overnight stopover. The journey to Helena was pretty cool as I got to see lots of farming things and even a chap dusting his crops in a plane. The next day we set off fairly early to Glacier. However, the good time we had made was soon demolished by American roadworks. Remind me never to complain again about roadworks in the UK! Well we are headed East. Hit 3 Staes on Monday and 450 miles, we landed in Montana. We are hoping to make it to Cody Wy. today to meet friends and head to Stugis. It was good to have some trees and things to look at yesterday. All is well and we had a GREAT time in Puyallup and wish we could have stayed longer. We miss them already! Stay tuned for more.
